Please start treating Covid as a virus that needs a vaccine that addresses current variants and is delivered to the public at least twice a year. While any vaccine uptake is good, mRNA vaccines are not the only ones available and Novavax/Nuvaxovid should be part of the promoted consideration set. It should also be made available for anyone who wants to receive it vs promoted s only for those who are elderly or immunocompromised.

To whom it may concern,
Since the beginning of the pandemic, covid has killed and disabled millions of people and it continues to do so to this day. While covid vaccines have helped slash death rates from covid, without regular, routine access to covid vaccines, covid deaths could yet again rise to a point where it puts society into jeopardy. Ensuring that Americans of all ages have access to updated covid vaccines as soon as possible, preferably before the start of the 2026-2027 school year, would help to cut rates of transmission, infection, emergency care visits, and deaths. The less people get covid, the more people can contribute to the economy and keeping society running smoothly.
As someone who was an essential worker early in the pandemic, having timely access to covid vaccines helped me avoid getting covid while I was working at my job, allowing me to perform my duties to the best of my ability. Many other frontline workers work hard every day to help keep society running smoothly and ensuring that everyone has timely, affordable access to routinely updated covid vaccines will help cut down on the number of sick days workers have to take, as well as ensure that workers don't transmit covid to the customers and clients they deal with every day.

I support the continued review and update of COVID-19 vaccine composition to make sure vaccines remain effective against the most current circulating variants. As healthcare continues to adapt to new strains and changing public health needs, it is important that vaccine recommendations are based on strong scientific evidence, safety and accessibility for the public. Novavax’s Nuvaxovid must also be approved for pediatric populations and infants. Novavax is far superior to mRNA and children deserve the best protection and an mRNA alternative.

My child got Covid-19 after being in school for less than a week last fall, and had to miss two weeks of school, because he was so sick. It was difficult for him to catch up (new school, lots of missed work, didn't know routines or staff, plus physical recovery). Vaccines should be made available PRIOR to the start of the school year. The strain selection process/fall vaccine campaign occurs too late for students and their families.
Ideally, since unlike influenza, Covid-19 has two waves a year (summer and winter), and vaccine protection wanes significantly after a few months, there should be twice-annual updates for strain selection, and boosters should be permitted for the general population every six months.
